Van Gerwenは2010年UK OpenでPhil TaylorがKevin Painterに対して記録したアベレージ118.66という記録を、信じられないパフォーマンスでthe GE Oil & Gas Arenaの大観衆の前で塗り替えた。

Taylorもまたアベレージ115.25という素晴らしいクオリティのダーツを見せ、Dave Chisnallに7-5で勝利した。
Chisnallは立ち上がり3-1とリードし、試合中3回の11ダーツを見せるが、Taylorが126をあがり復活すると、相手の2度のミスを見逃さず、8ダブルで勝利をさらった。

「スコットランドに来ることはそんなに多くないから、ここに来た時は、勝利といいプレーをプレゼントしたいと思っているんだ。でも観客が歌いだして代わりはじめてそれに気づいたら、集中するのが大変だったよ」とAnderson。
